Disney is going to stop selling DVDs and Blu-rays in Australia and to think of what this means for accessibility, residuals, quality, public libraries here etc and the precedent this will set for other studios and distributors around the world oh it’s never been more over
once again saying. stop using spotify. the 1-2 punch of bandcamp and piracy is cool and good. renting access to your music library is bad and spotify is at the point where it needs to actually become profitable or its going to collapse. and its not going to become profitable. its going to get worse and more expensive and then collapse taking your entire library with it. get ahead of it start building an offline music library before your current rented library gets ethered
get a list of everything in your library so you can find the music again elsewhere. i dont have spotify so i cant test it but something like this
Being obsessed with your own OCs but literally never creating any art or content for them is such a curse. You’ll be like “this reminds me of blorbo from my head :)”, and everyone else will just be like “? who thef uck”
y'all, the OP on the Barbie breakup headlines post going around right now is a TERF. Please, I beg you, go into your preferences and blacklist common TERF tags like ‘terfs please interact’ and 'radfem safe’ so you are less likely to platform TERFs. :/
Since I posted this, I’ve seen one that was reposted by someone as annoyed by the TERF as I was.
But listen, this is a good time to update your filtered tags! Filtered tags a) work on desktop and mobile b) aren’t reliant on an outside service like Shinigami Eyes c) trigger on tags the OP and/or the current reblogger put on.
From mobile:
Your blog > cog icon > Account Settings > Content You See
From desktop:
Hamburger menu on the top left > Settings > Account > Filtered tags
Then add some common tags used by shitty people for their shitty ideas!
ALT
This will screen these tags and make it so you have to actively tap/click to look at the post and thus warn you if OP has tagged the post with one of those things.
I have a bunch of dogwhistle stuff tagged, not just TERF stuff, but it’s a good way to avoid accidentally platforming people who hate my family. :)
Which website did you first go to for the purpose of looking at memes, and how old are you? (whether you knew the word for it or not *viral videos, lolcats etc)
I have achieved joy, I feel positive feelings toward Tumblr, I want to engage, I want to stay, my eyeballs land on more ads, you make more money, everyone wins! 🎉
Seeing the collapsed thread, you go like this:
😮 ooh, that’s cool 😐 “16 cents”? yes, that’s literally what the pic shows, not sure why you felt the need to say that
There is no motivation for me to uncollapse the reblog chain—it looks like a boring conversation about the denominations of coins. And even if I do uncollapse it, you’ve ruined the joke by showing me the punchline before the setup. I am sad, Tumblr is boring, I go elsewhere to entertain myself, I see less ads, you make less money, everyone loses. 😥
Reblog chains are the best thing about Tumblr. They are your unique super power. They are the thing that makes people screenshot Tumblr and share it around. Why on earth would you kneecap them??
I don’t know exactly how you plan to implement this. Give people the option to keep them collapsed if there truly are people who are annoyed by how long they can get (you already have a version of this feature), but don’t collapse them for everyone or new users by default. Please. It will make Tumblr so much more boring.
